TCL CSOT Delivers First Batch of MLCD Starlight Screens: Boundaryless Fusion Redefines Visual Experiences

With the rapid development and widespread adoption of display technologies, screens have become ubiquitous. While LED and Mini LED direct-view products dominate current advertising and exhibition scenarios, they suffer from drawbacks such as dead pixels, high heat generation, and harsh direct light. Meanwhile, traditional LCD panels face limitations in seamless tiling due to bezels and material constraints. Addressing these pain points, TCL CSOT has pioneered an ultra-large-size LCD display solution—MLCD Starlight Screen—combining LCD screens for most areas with minimal LED/Mini LED integration. This innovation breaks LCD’s size limitations while leveraging proprietary calibration algorithms to unify color and brightness across displays. Supporting 1×N, N×N, and L-shaped configurations, the MLCD Starlight Screen delivers ultra-HD visuals, eye-friendly soft light, high reliability, and low power consumption.

Born to Break Boundaries: MLCD Starlight Screen Embodies Innovation
Innovation lies at the heart of TCL CSOT’s 15-year journey to redefine display technology. Focusing on large-format displays, the company identified industry challenges and invested over three years and RMB 100 million in developing MLCD. By September 2024, TCL CSOT had secured 109 patents for this technology. The 150” and 158” MLCD Starlight Screens debuted globally at the 2023 Global Eco Conference, followed by showcases at events like the China Global Expo, earning widespread acclaim.

In 2024, TCL CSOT’s cross-functional teams transformed MLCD from prototypes to mass-producible products, overcoming challenges in production line setup, LED panel scaling, color/brightness uniformity across materials, algorithm optimization, and multi-screen synchronization.

Revolutionary Color Calibration:
Unlike traditional methods using 24–125 color points, MLCD employs 4,913 color points calibrated frame by frame, ensuring unmatched color consistency. Additionally, TCL CSOT shifted from semi-finished modules to full-system integration, delivering complete units with touch controls, power management, and software—a first in the industry.

By September 11, 2024, TCL CSOT delivered MLCD solutions to a leading education display partner, followed by a full-featured platform for a government agency on September 30, 2024.

Redefining Visual Excellence: MLCD Starlight Screen Elevates Displays
The MLCD Starlight Screen has captivated users and industries with its 4K clarity, intelligent modularity, flexible assembly, and eco-friendly design, setting a new benchmark for large-format displays.

  • Ultra-HD Visuals: Seamless 4K signal input resolves low-resolution and multi-source synchronization issues, delivering vibrant, lifelike imagery.
  • Adaptive Configurations: Customizable layouts for conferences, education, and advertising, tailored to any space.
  • Smart Multi-Screen Modes: Split-screen or unified displays enhance communication efficiency.
  • Eco-Friendly & Low Power: Surface-level lighting reduces eye strain and energy consumption by up to 30% compared to conventional solutions.

Leading the Boundaryless Future
While advancing MLCD technology, TCL CSOT plans to expand its product lineup beyond 150” and 158” models, introducing even larger sizes and superior displays to redefine industry standards.

Over 15 years, TCL CSOT has evolved from a follower to a leader in display innovation, pushing into uncharted territories like MLCD. Moving forward, the company will deepen R&D investments, foster cross-industry collaborations, and deliver all-size, all-category solutions to create lasting value for global customers.
